Use the Right Verb

1 　have  有
eg: Though  John  is  only  six , he  has  the  ability to  look  after  himself.
虽然约翰只有六岁，但他已有能力顾自己。

2　show/display/exhibit 展示，显示
eg:　Helen  displayed  her  great  ability  in  singing  in a  karaoke  bar  last  night.
海伦昨晚在一家卡拉OK酒吧显示了她的歌唱才能。

3　develop  发展
eg: In  order to develop George*s organizing  ability, Mr.Li appointed him  monitor of the class.
为了发展乔治的组织能力，李老师委任他为班长。

4　doubt  怀疑
eg:I do not doubt your ability to finish the job on time.
我不怀疑你按时完成工作的能力。

Use the Right Verb

1  seek  征求
eg: He sought advice from his form-master about what subjects he should choose to study .
他向班主任征求意见，该选读哪几科。

2　give 给予
eg:The old often give good advice to the young.
老年人经常给予年轻人好的意见。

3　adopt / take / follow 采纳；听从
eg: Susan is so stubborn that she never takes advice from others.
苏珊固执成性，从不听取别人的意见。

4　ignore 不理；不考虑
eg: He ignored my advice because he thought it would not work.
他不理会我的建议，因为他认为这建议行不通。

Use the Right Verb

1  ask 问
eg: I dare not ask her age.
我不敢问她的年龄。

2  divulge　透露
eg: She refused to divulgr her age.
她拒绝透露她的年龄。

3 come of age 成年
eg: When you come of age,you will be allowed to vote at various elections.
当你成年后，便可在各种选举中投票。

4　reach 到达
eg: When a man has reached 40,he has reached middle age.
人到四十已达中年。
